More cerebral-dribble-age

How did you get here? Why do you do the things you do? What makes you you? Heh.. yeah deep right... try to answer that question then read it to yourself and see how it sounds to you.

I am a crystal. My facets are many.... mebbe not so many as deity (look at the plethora of religions, beliefs and points-of-view on the subject)...

My two younger sons have been living with me since last August...I've been trying to explain to Middle how much I've changed since I lived with herself. I try to imagine the me they see now. I'm not the absolutist puppet that herself tried to make me. Am I some type of hippie/witch/failed superhero/tarnished knight character? Entirely possible... too bad I loooove steak... Hey? I am being natural... primates are omnivores... we eat whatever we can get our hands on. So I am being true to my nature. What do they see in me. To my in-laws (herself's parents) I'm the son they never had yet for them I have to stay in the broom closet. (I live in Virginia...even if it is the DC metro area VA still has some really wierd concepts of what's acceptable in a parent) for fear of causing them hurt and worry...and for fear that they'd let it slip to Herself... NO THANK YOU!

To my friends and chosen family? I leave it upto them to interpret. I live for the moments I see them roll their eyes and sigh "Nope! Nothing's wrong...It's just Cherif!"
or the standard guffaw of laughter followed by "Yer Fired!" by either my lady or Irene!
I'm such the airsign and Raven's child that it's pretty much expected wherever I go!
I live on the swell of laughter and the hidden chuckle. I'm no comedian... I just am.

To meself:

The Parent: I am the father of 3 magnificent boys! I've gladly put so much I do on hold to have them home with me. I only regret not having the opportunity to do that from the beginning. They are my art... my joy... my first loves. They are my gems!

The artist: I love creating... whether its in the kitchen, behind the camera, dancing, writing, or sculpting...I live... eat, and breath it... it is, in part, my prayer. I try to live, appreciate and enjoy the beauty I see in every thing and every day!
NO I'm no fluffy bunny all sunlight and unicorns... not even close.

The man of faith: I'm definitely not your average abrahamic biblist proselytizer... matter of fact... I see deity in all I do! And all thats around me. I am a shaman in training... whom the spirits claimed when I was a little one in North Africa! Who keeps his ancestors near when their advice is needed. I am a counselor, ear, voice, and touch of healing. I am a child of chance and Raven's own. My hugs are a religious experience in themselves *chuckles*. I've always stood between worlds...and will continue to do so. One of my favorite prayers is a dineh chant

Now I walk in beauty
Beauty is before me
Beauty is behind me
Above and below me!

The channel of laughter: I do my best to bring in as much laughter (not by clowning either... at least not most of the time) and joy into those who are my family, those who have become my family... and those who would be my family!

A small pebble of Kabyle culture: Trying desperately to incorporate and preserve aspects of Kabyle culture that I know and find in what I do.

A partner: To my lady...my love... my fiancee. She hides and holds much of what makes a goddess to me.

A friend: *hugs*

A Warrior: Harm those I hold dear to me and see what happens! Little is more feared than one protecting one's own! I'm peaceful and laid back but I'll be the hand of Karma if the need is there! I'm no hippie! Peace and love works great until someone tries to take it away.

A muppet: hehe you have to see my muppet dance... well mebbe not... several therapists are still making bank off of my last demonstration.

I could go on and on... as these thoughts just bubble up through the maelstrom.
Being who you are is the most complicated and insane thing you will ever do. Make mine messy!
